Forever Projects...

So I've been working on gifts, and are waiting until after Xmas to post pictures of them.  But I have now caught myself in a rut as towards blogging about whats been going on.  I guess its just been the regular stuff: playing cars with Ray, making sure Ry doesn't eat the ornaments, etc.  Oh right now the munchkins and Trav are sick.  Which is no fun.  I'm not sick, yet.  But I'm sure by this weekend I'll follow suit.  It seems to always happen that way.  Anyhoo, I figured I did have a project I could share with you and swatches of the next.

And this is one in the works.  This is going to be for my Big boy for Xmas.  I can't wait to get started on it and finish it.  And see the look upon his face when he opens it.  Keep posted to see the finished project.  I'll also be posting smidgens of other in the works projects.  So until then, TTFN, Ta Ta For Now.

I heart my snugglies!

So I haven't really had a chance to showcase some of my new snugglies (this is something that my kids now call their special blankies) to you.  I've been trying to experiment and take the best pictures of them.  That way you can actually see how cozy, luxe, and special they are.  But how do you show something so 3-D in only 2-D?  Always a problem.  Anyhoo.....

This is 'Maya Jade'.  R&Rs daycare provider/my friend had her baby.  I wanted to try something a little new, so I decided to hand embroider her name and birthdate on one of the corners.  As towards the fabric choice, I remembered that Maya's mama once told me that as a project for her children's center she had them learn about butterflies.  And they got caterpillars and watched as they went through every step until it was time for the butterflies to take flight.  She said that it was really cool for the kids to see new life.  I already had this fabric, but hadn't done anything with it.  But when I got the news that Maya had been born, it was like the fabric had been waiting for her.  And I'm happy to report, Mama and baby are doing well and are loving the new snugglie.

Awhile back I realized that I didn't have a lot of boy snugglies.  So I've been trying to come up with masculine fabric combinations.  This combination, Trav's sister helped me come up with back in March. And I'm just now getting to putting it all together (Shame!).  Its kinda hard to tell what the print is, but it is this little bear camping.  And T's sis, picked out some cute dotted fabric, to imagine real stars and this other one that looked kinda like leaves.  I really liked how it turned out.  Its probably one of my favorites, because the edge is ultrasoft and fluffy.
Camping Out

This one was super fun!  I found this dinosaur print and just loved how animated they looked with their googlie eyes.  But I didn't really see anything else to combine it with.  So after staring at my fabrics for a long while, getting frustrated, then stashing it away, then taking it out again......I finally thought I was over it.  Then I found this blue squiggly looking fabric in my remnants, and thought, I think these dinosaurs could be herbivores (can you tell I have a toddler into dinosaurs and yes we do read dinosaur books, have puppets, and watch dinosaur related things, and was amazed that some dinosaur names have changed since I was a kid?).  So I thought, "This blue fabric looks like it could be funky leaves that my funky eyed dinosaurs would love to eat."  And then came the creation of 'Dining with the Dinos'.
Dining with The Dinos
I also made a sport themed snugglie for T's boss' wife who is expecting this Xmas.  But I made it the night before the baby shower and didn't get a chance to take pics of it.  So sorry there's nothing to see, but that one was really cute as well.

And for the holiday season, I have finished R&Rs stockings

From now until the week before Xmas, I am in a sewing frenzy to make gifts.  So come and check out more soon :-).

Where do I begin....

On our way to the show
DJ Lance Rock

Omigoodness, where do I begin!  So since the last time I was in here, we went to Yo Gabba Gabba LIVE!, the salmon fish hatchery,
went to SmexyLIVE @ The Boardwalk (Colton and Adam's band), had Thanksgiving twice, and put up the Christmas tree.  I just can't seem to unpack the schedule.  Any how, once again I'm lacking pics of my projects (shame on you M).  But I figured the event pics and video of the boys should suffice for right now.
Trav sportin' DJ Lance glasses.  And yes
Lightning McQueen came along for
the show.

2 apples

So I went to my first quilt faire last Saturday.  I know, I can't believe it was my first, but it was and it was (word-of-the-month).....FANTABULOUS!!!!!  I forgot the camera (gasp), so sorry no pics, but it was so inspiring.  In fact I came home and have sewn and completed 2 blankets and am finishing up a third.  I got some really cute and whimsical fabric to make new blankies for the kiddos and a great book on fun tips, that I can't wait to try.  But I think the most memorable thing was when one of the ladies looked at R&R and genuinely admiring them asked, "Are they twins?"  I almost LOL'd, literally.  And not cause it was just a crazy question and because I had to fight back the "are you serious?" face.  But my kids, not yet having learned how to suppress that expression, simultaneously, gave her the face.  Yes, they looked at her with those blanks stares for a good 3 or 4 seconds, and then looked at me, as if to say, "Is she serious, right now?"  I politely smiled and said, "No they're just really close in age."  And as we walked away I chuckled as I thought, "Well I guess the apples don't fall far from the tree.  Geez, I'm in for it."  Gosh, I wish I had my camera.  Well back to the sewing machine. Like Tigger says, "T.T.F.N.=TaTaForNow."

She's here!!!!!

So on November 3, 2010, my second oldest sister had her first baby!  Welcoming Rayne Tomia Evans..... Ta Da!

7lbs.6oz. 19in.

Isn't she adorable?  I need to some how get a pic of my sister when she was born, cause she looks just like her.  And we are completely happy that the baby is doing well and mama is fine too.  I act like this child is mine, but I just can't wait to show off her pics.  (And yes, in true filipino fashion, my oldest sister and I were pa-pa-paparazzi)

We made it!!!!

Yaaaaaaayyyy we made it through Halloween!  I <3 Halloween.  I decided this long ago when halloween meant that I could get away with clubbing all weekend in practically my underwear (sadly I wish I was joking when I say this, but its true.). But now 2 kids in, halloween is definitely different and all the more my fave.

So although Trav and I didn't dress up, R&R were adorable.  R#1 was a circus master and R#2 was a lion.  Although Raymond didn't want to wear his top hat, the costume turned out pretty good.  And Rylie got to wear make up for the first time....ooooooooooooo.

They had soooo much fun!  As you can see we let Raymond walk, like a big boy and Rylie was carried in the bjorn.  But she got a kick out of all the kids, even laughing at the skeleton decorations.

This week we also went to the pumpkin patch.

This week was soooo festive.  I'm actually a little tired and the holiday season has just begun. (Sigh)

Round 2...

K, so Raymond just lost Benjamin (his favorite bunny).  Fire out.  Here are 2 of the blankets I finished.

Kawika

...the back is a minky fabric
And here is the other one:
Tinsley

...so 'Tinsley' has a minky back with fluffy edge

I'll post pics of the other blanket soon.  I'm making one of my preggy sister's here baby bedding set.  So when it's all complete, I'll show you. Although I have pictures of the other b-day party we went to, I'm kinda partied out.  So the last pictures I want to show you are of course of the babies and our trip to Target.  Now I know, Target does not seem picture worthy, but to me its hilarious.

So at Target they have these massive carts and we never get to use one.  So Friday was our lucky day.  And the kids loved it.  It looks like they're on a roller coaster.  Ahhh, the joys of the simple things in life.

I'm still here....

Omigod!!!! I've been crazy busy.  So the last time I left you was before Raymond's 2 year old birthday party (which came out fantastic).  And within that time frame there was the planning for the party, the party, my first avon order (by the way I'm an avon girl), the delivery of avon, the completion of 3 blankets, the selling of one blanket and the attending of Raymond's cousin's birthday party. And in between all the that, regular life.  Phew!!! I'm exhausted just typing up that.  So I know it would seem like I have all the time in the world to do that, being a stay at home mommy, but I don't.  Anyhoo, today is another day.  So today is going to be more or less of a photo album from where I left off and where I am today.  Warning:  There is a lot of pictures.

So one of my kids is crying for me, so I'll post the pics of the blankets later this evening.  But just know, I'm baaaaaccccckkkkk........

p.s. Sorry the pictures are kinda out of order
